About Dabke

Dabke radio, live from Paris: دبكه is the Arabica channel's dance floor — Levantine dabke, mijwiz and tabl, the songs that get a wedding on its feet. From Shafeq Kabaha and the El-Funoun troupe to Omar Souleyman and 47SOUL, mixed to keep the circle going.

Dabke is the line dance of the Levant — Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan — arms linked, feet stamping, the row that forms at every wedding, driven by the tabl drum and the reedy cry of the mijwiz. The crate keeps the village songs, Shafeq Kabaha's Jafra and Zareef Al Tool and the El-Funoun troupe, next to Omar Souleyman's Syrian wedding dabke, the sound that went on to Wenu Wenu with Four Tet and a remix of Björk.

On Wa3 it has its own show, دبكه, the Arabica channel's dance floor, with Chaotiz in the evening several nights a week, Paris time. It runs from the folk circle to the electronic one: 47SOUL's shamstep, the Jordanian band Autostrad, Saint Levant's Daloona with 47SOUL, Fares Karam's Al Tannoura — the hour to get a room on its feet before going out.

47SOUL, Omar Souleyman, Shakshaka, Shafeq Kabaha, Autostrad, El-Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe, Walid Sarkiss, Yemen Blues, محمود شاهين, Salah Hlayel, ARTIEXA FRANCE, Björk, Dabke Korg, Ibrahim Al Masri, Joseph Saker, Hasan Minawy, Al-Aksi, Fares Karam, Mohamad Alshekh, Mohammad Al Badi
